Dr. Montgomery graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Liberal Arts in 1982 and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1986. Following graduation, he remained actively involved with the dental school, serving as a part-time associate professor through 1988.

Since beginning his practice in Woodbury, Minnesota in 1986, Dr. Montgomery has built a respected cosmetic and family dental practice focused on creating healthy, functional, and beautiful smiles. His commitment to excellence in aesthetic dentistry has earned him national and international recognition throughout his career.

In 2006, Dr. Montgomery achieved Accreditation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), the world’s largest and most recognized organization dedicated to cosmetic dentistry. In 2015, he earned Fellowship status with the AACD—an honor achieved by fewer than 100 dentists worldwide. In 2017, he was awarded Diplomate status by the American Society for Dental Aesthetics (ASDA), the oldest aesthetic dentistry organization in the world, founded in 1976.

Dr. Montgomery has received numerous awards in the AACD Smile Gallery Competition and has published clinical articles in several international dental journals. He also served for 12 years on the board of the Minnesota Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, including roles as President and Board Member.

Recognized for both cosmetic and general dentistry, Dr. Montgomery has been named a “Top Dentist” by Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine 17 times between 2000 and 2025—more than any other dentist in Minnesota.

In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Montgomery has lectured extensively on functional-based esthetic dentistry for local dental organizations, sharing his passion for advanced cosmetic and restorative techniques with fellow professionals.
